In March 2025, Sam Outdoor Living was approached by a homeowner in Truganina, VIC, 3029, looking to upgrade their outdoor space with a stylish and functional design. They wanted an area that could serve as both an entertainment hub and a relaxing retreat, providing year-round comfort. Their key priorities included durability, aesthetics, and low maintenance, ensuring the new structure would seamlessly integrate with their home’s existing design. The total project area measured 10 square meters, requiring a thoughtful approach to maximize functionality while maintaining an open and inviting feel.

Solution

To bring the client’s vision to life, Sam Outdoor Living designed and installed a custom 3x3 meter flat Cooldek® patio using high-quality materials from Stratco. The Cooldek® roofing system was chosen for its superior insulation properties, helping regulate temperature by reducing heat in summer and retaining warmth in winter. The patio structure was engineered to withstand diverse weather conditions while maintaining a sleek, modern aesthetic. The design featured 50mm Cooldek® panels, ensuring excellent thermal efficiency and durability. Sturdy 150x150mm aluminum posts provided structural support while contributing to a contemporary appearance. A 140x50mm Probeam framework reinforced the patio, ensuring long-term stability. A 200mm edge gutter system was incorporated to facilitate efficient water drainage, protecting the patio from potential water damage. To enhance functionality and ambiance, two integrated downlights were installed, allowing the space to be used comfortably at any time of day or night.

Results

Following the installation, the homeowners were thrilled with their transformed outdoor area, which now serves as a seamless extension of their living space. The insulated Cooldek® roofing provides a comfortable environment throughout the year, making the patio an ideal setting for gatherings, outdoor dining, or quiet relaxation.
