Enhancing Outdoor Space With Stratco’s Premium Materials

Challenge

In March 2025, Sam Outdoor Living was approached by a homeowner in Tarneit, VIC, 3029, who wanted to transform their outdoor space into a stylish and functional area suitable for year-round use. The client envisioned a space where they could entertain guests and relax with family, but they faced challenges in finding a solution that could withstand the region’s unpredictable weather while maintaining a modern aesthetic. With a total area of 15 square meters, the project required a durable, insulated, and low-maintenance structure that could provide protection from the elements without compromising on design. The client also sought a solution that would integrate seamlessly with their existing home while adding value to their property.

Solution

To address these needs, Sam Outdoor Living designed and installed a custom 3x5 meter flat patio featuring Stratco’s premium Cooldek® roofing system. Cooldek® panels were chosen for their innovative design, which incorporates insulation within the roofing itself. These 50mm panels not only enhance thermal regulation—keeping the space cool during the scorching summer months and warm in winter—but also contribute to noise reduction, ensuring a peaceful and enjoyable outdoor environment.

The structural components were carefully selected to provide long-term durability and minimal maintenance. Stratco’s high-quality aluminum posts (150x150mm) and Probeam (140x50mm) were used to create a strong yet visually sleek framework. To further enhance the patio’s resilience against harsh weather conditions, an edge gutter system (200mm) was installed to facilitate efficient water drainage, preventing potential water damage and ensuring the structure’s longevity. Additionally, four integrated downlights were installed to create a warm and inviting ambiance, making the space functional both during the day and at night.

Result

Since the installation, the client has been thoroughly impressed with their newly upgraded outdoor space. The insulated Cooldek® roofing has significantly improved comfort levels by reducing heat buildup in the summer and maintaining warmth during colder months. This feature has allowed them to use the space year-round without concerns about extreme temperatures. The durable aluminum framework ensures that the patio remains in excellent condition with minimal upkeep, saving the homeowner both time and maintenance costs.
